HELP
I had a complete power failure when the computer was running. When it was rebooted the following message was displayed on the scan drive.
There is not enough free conventional memory to check drive.
You may need to remark (REM) some device drivers from your config.sys drive file. Or, in your config.sys, you may need to load the EMM386.exe driver to load your other device drivers into Upper Memory Blocks using DEVICEHIGH = Statements.
How do I do this. I have looiked for information on the web and am having trouble working out the right commands.
make sure the himem.sys command comes first, followed by the emm386.exe command. Other drivers can be loaded using the devicehigh command.
If all else fails, put REM in front of all the commands except himem.sy and emm386.exe then run the computer. There should be plenty of memory then. stacks=9,256

The tip above should work quite well.
If you have further problems and you have a MS-DOS version 6.0 or higher installed on your machine try to run MEMMAKER. (By typing memmaker at the DOS prompt.
