How do I read long file names in windows 3.11 under file manager etc? The computer is networked to a xp machine of mine and it is extremely hard to determine the name of folders and some long file names.

The Windows 3.1 file manager does not support long files names... although I think I saw a replacement shell for Windows that did (3rd party, not microsoft), I forgot what it was called though.

If you just want to be able to see your w95 filenames try instant file access, it reads them in w31. Not only can you get it from their site (i forget where, but a google search will do it), but theyll give you a serial number for free for version 4.0 ( actually, i thinlk its the company name , not a number)
File manager will never be able to read them, and even if it did, its not capable of working with those files , even with the LFN patch in win95.
I wish there was , i looked for aaages!,no luck.
IFA works fine, tho.
