Can anyone help me i have a laptop running windows 3.11 for workgroups but i cannot find out what in the computer (hardware) does anyone know a program or in windows somting to find this out.

Your best bet, is to go to the laptop company home page, and try to retrieve drivers there. After that, you could try 1 of the 2 shareware program links on Lightspeeds site.
http://lightspeedref.web1000.com/main.html#Uninstallers/System
You could also see if you can find an FCC id on the hardware, track the company website for drivers there, if the hardware is discernable.

Good luck.

Windows 3.1 has, I believe, something called Microsoft Diagnostics, or "msd", which you can run from Windows or from DOS. It should give you an idea of what hardware is in your system. Good luck.

Thanks C_Legend

Sorry, but I know not of any other hardware indicator for WFW. You mention that this is a laptop. Why do you want to know the specific hardware inside of it? I have a 486 notebook that formerly ran WFW 3.11 (runs DOS and Linux now), but I didn't find myself needing the particulars of its insides. Are you just curious? Or, are you considering running Windows 95 on it? With only 4 Meg of RAM, I would recommend against that. Good luck.

I an trying to find out the make and the specks of the things inside of it so my mum knows what she can do with it. i use this for school so as its coming to its last few days now she is going to try and make it easer to use eiter with 95 for somthing els
Thanks
