OK, you can all think I'm REALLY stupid, but how do you turn off a 3.11 computer?
Do I just exit Windows and merely turn the computer off, even though I see a blinking DOS C:\
I managed to uninstall a badly functioning Win95 off my "new" laptop, and found a 3.11 already on the machine that works MUCH better and freed up a LOT of hard drive space.
I have never used 3.11. Our 1st computer was a 95 and we played a bit in DOS (most of which I've forgotten), but I've never used 3.11. Any tips, websites, books I should buy?

If you have closed windoz and then see the prompt power down, if however you have dropped to dos windoz is not yet ready.....
Keep the old stuff running

If you have an ATX complient PSU then from DOS use ATXOFF:

It's a 486 - just turn it off once you've exited Windows
No muss, no fuss - the idea of 'preparing to shutdown' originated with Win95.
We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true

You exit windows (ie use the exit-command on the shell, eg "file, exit" on program manager). At the dos prompt, you can simply turn the computer off.
The dream you dream alone is only a dream,
The dream we dream together is reality.
