I gave my 83 year old neighbour my old 486 Compaq with Windows 3.1 on it. The problem we have now is that the program manager screen is off to the right side and only 2/3 of that screen is visible. When we click on the blue bar a the top nothing happens. in effect we cant click and drag to get it in its proper position. How do we get it back to whereit once was? Also what caused that to happen?

Hi Ed: Not sure what it causing the Progman window not to move when minimized, can you maximize it? Maybe you can try using the scandisk & defrag DOS utilities, you might have a bad sector that progman.exe is written to on hard drive. If nothing else work you can try re-installing Win 3.1 over current one to repair bad files.
Good luck. Z

Did you alter the screen setting knobs when you moved it? A number of people get caught out with this.

Thanks to all who provided suggestions. The problem was solved by doing this :
Double click on the desktop to bring up the task list and then click on Cascade or Tile.
