I'm wondering if there's a utility for Windows 3.1 that would let me adjust the display output's horizontol position. Basically I have a laptop here with messed up hardware that displays everything about 100 pixels to the left. So the left side of the screen is cut off. This isn't a windows problem per se, but it runs 3.1 and I'd like to find a way to adjust the display position with software.

Is it to the left side at a DOS prompt? If not, maybe you could try a different driver. A plain VGA setting should always work (in Windows). But if hardware is the cause, then changing to 16 color driver may not help. How to: Change to Windows directory from DOS prompt. Type: SETUP Choose 16 color VGA video driver. Save.

Another thought. If the above suggestion did not help, maybe the resolution in Windows is not appropriate. Change display properties to see if it helps.
