Himem.sys ErroR !!!

Comment:
My computer is a 386 Compaq Deskpro with 1MB RAM and DOS 6.22 with WIN 3.1 installed, and the problem is that whenever it starts up the config.sys and calls himem.sys the system writes....
"Installed A20 handler number 1. Shadow RAM disabled. WARNING: The High Memory Area is unavailable"
I don't know much but I guess that's the reason why WIN 3.1 only detects the cache memory 640kB, but it's weird cuz at the start up (before running the congig.sys and autoexec.bat) when it starts counting the RAM the number goes up to 1024 kB.
HHHEEEELLLPPPP !!!
I tried switching the himem directory to the DOS directory cuz I know there's a more recent version of himem.sys with DOS 6.22 but that didn't work either.... What's going on ????
