Comment: Hellow, Its me again with the videocard. I have a tseng ET4000ax with 1mb ram videocard. I have drivers for it but if i select a videomode with more then 256 colors i get the message: "Can not set desired videomode" I readed that 1mb is enough to display 64k color and even 16 million color in 640x480. A friend says that windows 3.11 can't display more then 256 colors. And that my videocard is 1mb BUT wtih an 8bit dac (don't support more then 256 colors. If he is right. Why are there drivers for it???

Reply: (edit)Windows 3.1 can display more then 256 colors, but your videocard has to support it. I have a Matrox MGA220+: 16bit and 24bit works perfect!

Reply: (edit) Try using a VESA driver with your card. It should give different resolutions if you upgrade to the VESA 3.0 standard.

Reply: (edit)Yip your freind has no idea what he's talking about. If your card supports a higher resolution and there is a driver available it will be done. Also your moniter has to support it too by the way...
