Same problem, fdisked, formated c:\, and it will not let me install or setup anythin onto the c:\ even though c: is the active partitioned drive. I've tried everything at one point I found bad sectors on cylingers 1 - 12 but I dont't know how to fix them if I can't get anything to read drive c: my hardrive. Right I am on my pentium so as to get some help loading windows 95 onto my 486, I can't even get msdos onto the hardrive. Please, help!!!!
Thank you Karen Chisham

I think that with a boot in A:\format c:\. Then run FDISK to partition. Then format each partition, should work. The first format should clean up the disk, if you have bad area in the boot sector you can't load anything there. I hope this is a help, if not maybe someone else with know.

if you reformatted your c drive ( hard drive ) then you will have to go into the cmos or bios setup file - that should still be there, and reset the boot sequence so it will read from your floppy disk drives first. then of course when you have some software re-installed you will have to reset the bios or cmos boot sequence to the appropriate settings.
