Help on installing windows 3.1

Help, I downloaded all six disks for windows 3.1 and I cant get it installed. I copied it onto disk unziped labeled 1-6 and typed setup on disk one. About 40% into the installation, it asked for disk 2. I put it in and it asked again. Aslo I tried to copy all six disks onto my harddrive and install from there. It still asked for disk 2. PLEASE HELP! I looked all day for this download and I need it for an old computer of mine! Also if anyone needs 3.1 disks I'll E-Mail you them.

Hi Jeff: You need to make sure that you have 6 install disks for Win 3.1, & each one should be labeled different. Disk 1 should be labeled win31disk1, then disk 2 win31disk2, & so on. This is the way my install disks are labeled, so maybe that's the problem you're having of in finding disk 2.

I have windows 3.1 I need to reinstall it, because there are some files missing. I downloaded all 6 disks to install, and when I try to install it says I have to quit windows and type setup at the dos prompt. I did that, and it gave me the error, SETUP ERROR #S001 Unable to open Setup.inf What can I do? And do I have to uninstall windows first? If so how? Thanks
