Whenever I try to run Microsoft Works 3.0 or Microsoft Office 4.3 on Windows 3.1, I get an error that says "This application requires a newer version of Microsoft Windows" I dont need a new version of Windows because those applications are made for Windows 3.1. What should I do?

To tell if you are running in 386 enhanced mode jsut click help in the program manager and the about program manager...this should say 386 enhanced mode..not standard mode..If you are sure you meet all the requirements to run in 386E just type Win /e at the command prompt to boot Windows in a force 386 mode..if you dont meet the requirements it should spit out a message saying that you dont..good luck!
