Control-C or Control-Break While Booting
To Stop AUTOEXEC.BAT or Boot with Floppy Disk

Then Fix Autoexe.bat

If you're running MS-DOS 6 or higher, you can bypass autoexec etc by hitting F5 - of course, you should be able to see those instructions on the screen, as the computer boots up.

Hey Dan Penny ;-)

F5 will bypass config.sys & autoexec.bat (with MS-DOS6xx) - a 'clean boot' - same as a boot disk, but a bit quicker.

F8 will step you through each line of the DOS startup files - great for tshooting.

Either would work.

When F5 and F8 fail to help you boot the PC, you can try to boot and skip config.sys and autoexec.bat. Press either Shift key when the Starting MS-DOS message appears and don't release it until the system has finished booting. You won't see no message like when you press F5. Good luck.
