Toshiba 4700ct with 344mb with win 3.1.Replaced 344 with 3.2gb and used EZ drive9 to use the larger drive, then put w95 on this drive. The3.2 gb drive with w95 was then put into another laptop.I tried to put the small drive with w3.1 back into the tosh 4700 and the drive is no longer recognised. Other drives with w95 work in the 4700 ,but any drives with w 3.1 do not work. I have tried flashing the bios.Is it possible to make the 340 mb drive with w3.1 work in 4700 again without losing data?

Do you remember having to adjust the BIOS HDD settings to accomodate the larger HDD? Are they set to auto detect?

Follow the good advice from funickk above however you may need to check your 344MB hdd in another computer too as there is some small possibility you nuked it with ESD!

Summary: Hi Kelly: You could have a limitation on how much memory your bios can read. By that I mean on older PCs like my DX4-100 486, I could only use a hard drive no larger than 800 Megs (if I remember corre...
