I have a Motorola Surf Board 5100 Cable modem plugged into my computer through USB.
The Computer is set to dual boot between Windows 2000 and MS-DOS 6.22 (With Windows 3.1)
Is there any hope for me to get online with Windows 3.1?Also, I tried installing IE 5.0, and it told me that 4 megs of memory wasn't enough. (I have 192, of which MS-DOS 6.22 notices 64mb)
How do I rectify that, assuming I can get it online with the above circumstances. If not with USB, is it possible to get Win3.1 online if I buy an ethernet card and plug the modem into it?
Any help would be much appreciated.
And if you're wondering, it's a nostalgia thing.

For 16-bit IE 5.0, please specify the option "/f:16" for IE5 SETUP to get rid of that error message.
To see your whole 192MB memory under DOS, please try SETXMSTO or upgrade your DOS to MS-DOS 7.10, available from:

If you want to have DOS support for USB see:

As to Ethernet connection, I use DOS Browsers with just a packet Driver installed for the NIC. Not used W3.x but should work.....................if the NIC is recognised.

If you need Internet in Windows 3.11, get an Ethernet Cable modem, the install youe Network Card Drivers in WFWG 3.1x. Download the TCP/IP 32-bit off tuvows, then install it in WFWG 3.1x under the network applet in the contral panel. Then enable DHCP and let it search for an IP address. Then get a 16-bit IE and your all set.
PS..You can do this under regular Windows 3.1x, you need Windows For Workgroups. Email me If you need a copy at Microsoftroaster@netscape.net
