i'm a little bit confused - your previous post claimed the hard drive was erased and yet you say that you have dos on it still does the machine boot from the C: drive? if it does, put in a blank floppy disk and type sys a: you will see a message 'system transferred' there's your boot disk if your machine doesn't boot from the hard drive, then you will need to find the correct dos boot disk, boot from the floppy and type sys c: to transfer the OS back to your hard drive. if you want to put windows back on it, you'll need the installation disks which can be found by a little searching on this site (as can the various boot disks)

No there is nothing on this site that helps me. Ok i installed dos 6.3 but when I installed the windows 3.1 I get problems. Now it wont' do a thing. No even recognize the mouse. It boots up right to a screen and it's a mess. Totally usless . It's a Toshinba laptop. I'm about to smash it with a sledge hammer.

it could be that you need a different video driver for the laptop's LCD screen - maybe run the DOS version of windows setup from your windows directory and look for a different driver. 6.3 - that's PC-DOS (IBM), probably ok.
