Help! I keep getting a GPF in module MSHTML16.ddl when I try to launch Explorer. What's the problem?

I had a GPF problem with explorer which I just solved after considerable research. The price you pay for working with old computers.

I received varied GPFs, but my problem turned out to be a conflict with my SpeedSTAR vidio driver. The solution was to modify my config.sys file from DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.exe NOEMS to DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.exe NOEMS X=A000-C7FF (this assumes that you are using the EMM386 memory manager).

This fix was from the diamond web page. They suggested that if you are not using EMM386 that you add the following line in your SYSTEM.INI file under the [386Enh] section:
EMMExclude=A000-C7FF.

I also found under a netscape troubleshooting webpage that their solution to memory conflicts was to modify the config.sys EMM386 line to read as folllows DEVICE=C:/WINDOWS/EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=A000-EFFF.

Hopefully one of these command lines will fix your problem.
