when you boot up your floppy drive does the light stay on all the time if it does then you have connected the cable to the floppy drive upside down just reverse it if this is not the case then you either have a broken floppy or a faulty cable

Maybe a: is working, but the message (40) is for b:. Check in the bios if the b: is enabled. Maybe that will work(?)!

Floppy Disk Fail! Error 40

Got that message; I swithed the floppy to another machine and found it was working fine. So I put it back in: it failed again.
I then switched the cables and the floppy now works... The problem was the cable (or the connectors)!

Error (c0) means that the floppy disk drive controller is disabled in the BIOS of the PC.

Common problem is faulty connectors/cable. If that isnt a problem that you know of, flip your cable upside down, see if when you power it on if it gets the light staying on. If no light, then its garbage, other things to try, in the bios make sure it enable, make sure it the right size desired, and try the B instead of the A at time it works, especially with old computers using I/O cards. If anyone is interestd in more help, drop me an email. Later folks.

P.S i am getting my web page up asap for my business, there is a web form ill be constantly attending to if you need more help as well. Thanks

All i had to do was push the cable into the mother board. It was only out a little bit.
