You need a new floppy disk or the cable is not on correctly. To put the cable on a sony or mitsumi drive first SWITCH OFF and then plug in the power connector (a small usually white plug), next connect the grey floppy cable to the drive making sure the red side is nearest to the power connector (to set it to the A drive it must be the connection after the twist) and make sure the oter end connects to the mother board with the RED side on pin 1. Next, in the BIOS (Accessed by pressing delete on boot up or CTRL S and many other key combinations on different computers) go to the standard page and set the a drive as a 1.44mb 3.5'' disk drive. If this does not cure the problem BUY A NEW DRIVE. £10 English Cash (NOT EURO). bye for now

Very good slapper, Another fail profe test is to check your pins if one is bent or dameged or evan missing. Your drive is cu-poot!
