Damn Geocities, it is going to drive me crazy!
It keeps corrupting a "Calmira LFN with installer" zip file I tried to upload 3 times (and, yes, I check the original files every time I try to upload). And, weirdly, it does not corrupt the "Calmira LFN without installer" zip file.
Anyone knows a good place where I can host my site? I do not need unlimited space (The 15mb limit in geocities seemed enough for me) but I do need a decent server that will not corrupt your zip uploads.

The easiest way to have control is to HOST the SITE yourself, though you will need a static IP address:

Three weak points:
1st- my pc will have to stay turned on the whole day (otherwise the site will be offline), and it does not
2nd- I do not have any idea on how to do it
3rd- It will not have a pretty name

Point 1 and 2

PC's are cheap, EZNOS Web Server

Point 3

http://www.geocities.com/alexanrsousa/

Is that pretty?, if you submit a site to Google it is listed under the Web Page title, and linked by the 'meta names'

Hello alexanrs

At least as a temporary solution you could use a free file hosting service like Rapidshare. Your site can be on any server and your download links point to the links you get after uploading your files there.

How big are your files btw?

Lightspeed.

Well, I'm a 15 year old guy, I cannot simply ask my parents to buy a web server to store a Windows 3.11 program small site (under 10 mb)...

Thanks for advice but the free plan is limited to 1 mb per file (althoug you can have up to 100mb... quite interesting) and zip/exe files are not allowed

I'll try that, thanks

Calmira LFN w/o installer = 825K
Calmira LFN w/ installer = 1024K
Calmira Source Files = 1908K
