I'm getting the same error message trynig to fish an old c source file out of the recycle bin!!! Anyone know why?
-Greg

I downloaded netscape from the internet but it gave an error while down loading hence it was interrupted. But i can't uninstall it for it is under windows. Though i go to windows explorer to physically delete it, it gives an error "cannot delete file. File system 1026.

when i want to restore my r14 file from recycle box notice of
file system error 1026 is comming and here no one knows what to do

I have the same problem.
I have removed an application with ICONs
left on the Desktop. Another application
with short cuts left under Recycle Bin.
Trying to remove these short cuts generates
Delete File System error 1026.
I am going to try to use scandisk utility
and see if that will help to remove these files.

I have a couple of files on my desktop like this that I can't remove. The properties section of the file says that it is 0 in size, yet I can't remove it. I've tried the stuff in the microsoft support on this code but it doesn't work.

Same problem, file error 1026 when trying to delete files from recycle bin....does anyone know how to fix this......have already tried scandisk to no avail....???

Time and again files names in one of my folders chage to some funny characters. When I try to delete the folder. It gives me error "Cannot Delete file: File system error(1026)" Apart from that, the file size shown is of the order of 60GB which is impossible on a 4GB H/D of my laptop.
Any Sherlock Holmes out there who can get the bug out ? Or isit some new virus...

I have the same problem. Every time I try to
delete, move or rename this file on my desktop
I get that error message. According to the File
Manager, the file cannot be found. Please, anyone
have a suggestion?

I have the same problem as above. Continue to get error cannot delete file systeme error 1026. But do not see any answers..
Has anyone found anything that works??
I have three Icons on desktop cannot delete.

Same problem error 1026 when doin a copy.
The microsoft article appears worthless.
Something else is going on here.

i have a similar problem with folders in my mirc download folder. the filenames that i can not delete hacve spaces in then when viewed from the dos prompt. using %20 in place of the space did not help. i am interested in whatever was nessisary to delete the files from the desktops of the others who have posted to this list because i believe it is the same problem i am having with my folders
