how do i put files back together with chainsaw file splitter .. their instructions didnt work and i dont know how to do it in dos really.. im typing at a:copy /b file.001+file.002+file.003+file.004+file.005+file.006+file.007 ie501.zip


nothing works

is that the whole command?

and how do i get my pasword in case i format or use other computer -- the passord for this forum

I'd say just make sure you have the right syntax. It is:

copy /b "file.001" + "file.002" "fullfile.ext"

Of course the length of the command will vary depending on how many files you're merging.

Note the quotes, the spaces on either side of the plus sign, and the single space before the final file name. The quotes aren't necessary, but they seem to help in some situations.

thanks but that didnt work .. all it seems to do is want to recopy the file on the floppy. how do i get it on c drive?

Copy all the parts to a partition on the harddrive then run the BAT file. I think the documentation is a bit vague.

Try using
copy /b file.001+file.002+file.003+file.004+file.005+file.006+file.007 c:\ie501.zip

copy /b file.001 + file.002 file.ext
should work just make sure all the files you are joining are already on drive C:

you could always get a cheap null modem cable and transfew the file through serial it will be faster than floppy and probably less messing about

If you want a real good file splitter then I would check out HJSplit,It is real easy to use and works with 3.1/95/& 98 ,,I have use this software for years and works real good.
