I'am trying to connect to the net with Windows 3.1 using Trumpet. Every time I logon using Trumpet, everything seems to be fine until after the computer has dialed and says logged on. That's when it says: Script aborted. PPP Enabled. It then disconnects me. Is there something I should edit in the login.cmd script or should I get in touch with my ISP?? Any suggestions?

Nick,
I'm having the same problem. I'm using an old Gateway 2000 Colorbook with a 486DX processor. I've got a Gateway 2K Telepath PCMCIA 14.4 Fax/Modem. I'm using Trumpet Winsock 3.0D. I've tried everything. I've tried different modem strings, different PCMCIA slots, different phone lines -- everything. It always gets to the point where it's negotiating for an IP address and then it hangs up. I'm at my wits end so if you've received any help I'd be interested in knowing how you fixed this problem.

Alright,
I think every thing worked, except for the fact I can't use my net browser.
After you have Trumpet open, go up to Dial and select Manual Login.
Then type atz.
Then type atdt####### (where ####### is the phone number you call to dial in).
Then you have to login with your username and password, then after that push escape and it should say PPP Enabled. I don't get any errors this way and it appears as if I'm on the net but I can't seem to use Internet Explorer 3 at this point. Do you know how to do this?Nick

You should download Internet Explorer 3.
It has a dialer and everything and it was so much easier to set up than Trumpet. I'm already online with my computer w/ IE3.
Just go to zdnet.com and do a search on Internet Explorer.
