Comment:

I was given an old Epson laptop, no cdrom. It has Win 3.1 installed. Every time I turn it on it says -non system disk or disk error, replace and press any key when ready.
I have to use a boot disk to get it to do anything. Any answers, thanks.

Have you made the DOS boot disk / install the system correctly? If you didn't, then it may not be bootable and you will receive that error message. You can download a *standard* MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk from here, and follow the instructions inside to make a bootable DOS disk to start up your system.
