help! I changed the undelete method, deleated the files in the Sentry folder and the next thing I knew I was missing windows files. I then went searching through the windows directory and found win386.exe. I clicked it and windows loaded the logo, background and in a flash there was a black screen which said error loading progman.exe. then I was back at
C:>WINDOWS\
Is the problem in win.ini or system.ini? what do I need to change/add/rename/do?
I tried to fix it by reinstalling windows3.1 but it didn't help...can you?

What are your machine specs? If reinstalling windows doesn't fix it then its some other problem i.e. hardware.

I got It! enter the SYSTEM.INI file in the dos program EDIT. The
first two lines should say
(boot)
Shell=progman.exe
Change it to
C:\Windows\Progman.exe instead of just progman.exe
this worked for me and I hope It works for you!
