My com2 port isn't responding. If i do MSD from dos it tells me that both com1 and com2 are detected, on 3f8h and 2f8h or something. How can i tell if the serial port is enabled as com2? I don't have the option in bios. If i need to, can someone suggest how to enable com2 on my motherboard? I have no manual and as i said i can't change it in Bios. I have a 486 dx 33. running dos 6.2 and win 3.1. 16 mbRAM. I'm not familiar with the set up, but i have some sort of ISA card in the machine with two serial ports at the back (one 9 pin female and one 25 pin female) and from it run two cables which form a game port - just a joystick (? about 16 pins) port and another 25 pin port (male). The 9 pin serial port works fine (with both mouse and modem), the other doesn't work at all. If I plug the modem in the 25 pin port and turn on the computer the modem lights don't flash or anything. Please tell me how to do this. If i need a new serial card please tell me exactly what to ask for so that i don't buy something incompatible.
