Comment:

Net users have recieving bogus e-mail messages, with suspect file attachments.
Here are some examples:

From Said Azeklou

(Message 1)
Subject - fiche modele 2
Attachement - fiche modele 2.doc.lnk (164kb)

(Message 2)
Subject - BBC 2
Attachment - bb2.doc.pif (179kb)

(Message 3)
Subject - tāches
Attachment - tāches.doc.pif (163kb)

All have the same message:

Hi how are you?
I send you this file in order to have your advice

See you later. Thanks

My advice is delete the messages - Do not open any file attachment such as the above - Do not even bother to Virus Scan them No one with any sense uses this type of double file ending

Anyone who posts his e-mail address on the NET Beware.

Burning_MPEG3_files_with_Nero.doc.pif
Type of File: application/mixed
Scan Result: Virus W32.Sircam.Worm@mm found. File NOT cleaned.
This file contains a computer worm, a program that spreads very quickly over the Internet to many computers and can delete files, steal sensitive information, or render your machine unusable.

I also got something similar but through MSN Instant messagener. I started to talk to a friend online and automatically after I said hi she (or what I thought was she) transfered me a file called "Dex.exe" And she said it was where you shot President Bush. After I opened it, it had the weirdest error. The title name was "Choke" and it says "You need Flash 6.5 to run" then there was a legitamate runtime error. As I countiued to talk to her she informed me that she didnt send me a file and when i say this thing at the botton of the screen it kept saying "George.w.bush@whitehouse.gov is typing a message" and then little smiley faces kept appering on the screen. So I went in and checked my startup and sure enough this "Dex.exe" was attached to my system Startup so i disabled it and deleted it. But the main thing I wonder about is who was sending the file and why was it called "Dex" considering that is my first name? Some of my other friends got this but havent forseen any other problems.

There are a lot of these similar viruses going around MSN and I had one about a picture and it'd ask people I'd be talking to if they'd like to see this new picture, and then it'd just spread. I got rid of this file, and my friend now has the president bush one, and I am helping him delete it thanks to the comments above from DEX mather. Thanks a lot for your help if you guys need help removing these kind of files please look me up I'll be glad to help anyone I can.
