When I boot my computer I get "EISA Configuration Error--Run Configuration Utility". How do I reset it? Where do I find the utility? When I press F1 to run the setup utility, it wants me to change values.
How do you find the values to reset the BIOS? My E: drive acts kooky since it's not configured right and I don't know all the parameters (like the cylinders, sectors, etc). I've ran MSD, I don't know what I'm doing. I got my computer second hand.

One more thing:
E: drive is my hard drive. I can't put any programs on it because it gets truncated or corrupted. I never had this problem until the EISA configuration messed up.

That's a somewhat of an odd message - do you have Matrox video?
If it does pertain to the HDD configuration, you may be able to select 'autodetect' from the CMOS - this isn't necessarily automatic on a 486.
Possibly the hard drive will have its specs on a label, otherwise you could get the drive geometry from a net search and enter the values manually.
Thinking - it's a habit.

Ok, I was at school when I wrote this, but now since I'm in front of my computer, I can tell you what's happening:
When i boot, i get this proper message;
"Invalid EISA Configuration, Invalid EISA Utility--Please Run the Configuration Utility"My computer is a Digital DECpc MTE 486DX2 66mhz

"Invalid EISA Configuration, Invalid EISA Utility--Please Run the Configuration Utility"
This is a hardware question, nothing to do with Operating Systems.Anyway you need to download and run the EISA Configuration Utility Diskette
