I've built a retro computer (circa 1996/7) to relive the glory days or Doom, ROTT, and Duke3D. In the process of restoring many of my old copies of Win 3.1 apps from a decade ago, I came across an issue.
A lot of my Microsoft software has a registered user (or original owner) written into the first floppy of the install set. I remember seeing this on an old Win 95 install floppy set I had, but I didn't realize the same had happened with Office 4.0.
Anyone know how to change it? I tried decompressing and coping the first disk's contents to Linux and grep'ed through it but couldn't.
It's not a huge deal, but I typo'ed my own last name the first time I'd ever installed it, and now can't figure out how to change it ... more an annoyance than anything else.
Second, anyone know where there is a _complete_ copy of IE 5.01 for WfW? The only versions I can find all refer to either Microsoft.com of Connexion.com, and neither has the legacy files for the installer anymore.
Thanks!

Take a look at my PowerLoad Win3x Page (Link is at the top of all my messages) and you will find a replacement SETUP.INI file. Rename (DO NOT DELETE IT - IN CASE YOU NEED IT AGAIN) the original SETUP.INI to say SETUP.BAK and copy the replacement file to Disk One. In 95% of cases this will result in a Unregistered Setup Disk!
This works with early Disk Sets of Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Access which were part of Office 3 or 4 (But not all Disk Sets, Hence the warning!)

For 16bit IE 5.01 full download (about 8MBs)
