There is a method of transferring files using the printer port, but an ordinary printer cable won't do it. DOS6 interlnk program will accomplish this, but you need a 'parallel file transfer' cable, not too expensive, find'em anywhere. You can also use a 'null modem' cable with the serial port (slower). Try DOS Help program, interlnk.exe for more info. There's Laplink as well, but I *think* that the cable is a bit different.

It is a hell of alot easier to download Windows 95A floppy version. Then you would not have to bother with all this unnecessary bulls---. Mine works fine downloaded from a person who visits this site often.

I did this with a serial(null modem)cable.
First copy the 'Win95' folder on the CD to the PCs hard disk.
Then copy the interlnk files(interlnk.exe and intersvr.exe, I think...) to the laptop using a floppy disk.
NOTE: Yes, you can send it over the cable, but it's easier with a disk.

Add this line to Config.sys on the Laptop:
DEVICE=C:\#path to interlnk#\INTERLNK.EXE

Then connect the Serial cable to COM1: on both computers. Restart the laptop, make sure it's not in Windows. Go into DOS Mode on the PC(dont run from the dos prompt).

Type this on the PC:
C:\#path to interlnk#\intersvr

On the laptop, the PCs hard drive should be avaliable under D: or something.
So type D:\WIN95\SETUP, and the setup program will load.

It will take AGES to load and the Install will probably take about 4 HOURS(!) in total, but it works!!!!!!

NOTE: If you are using the FAT32 filesystem on the PC, this method WILL NOT WORK - trust me, i've tried it!

hi it's doh the reson for me not buing a keboard is that i hate to get it delived to me because i live on a farm close to a nother farm with foot and mouth that is why i could not leve my home and by a new keboard !!!! as you can see it is working so sorry about the CAPS LOCK to all of you !!!

dont worry bout it doh, there just haveing bad hair days, or not enough sex, lol just keep asking your question, if anyone knows the answer they will answer you, even with cap's locked, these people bothering you about your keys caps being stuck are just people who dont know the answer to your question
