Hi everyone,
This problem appeared just after I turned the PC power off without closing all directories (I had the File Manager open and a *.exe program running, from which I could not find a way to exit).
Now, when I type WIN (or anything else) at the C prompt and hit Enter, the cursor moves back at the beginning of the line (at letter C) and nothing happens next: no Win 3.1 and the cursor freezes there.
Since then, the PC can only run Diagnostics tests for the Hard Disk and the Keyboard; these do not indicate any problems.

The odd thing is that I don't know the exact version of DOS in the PC. When I use DOS 5.0 and 6.22 bootdisks I get "NTLDR is missing..." When I use a DOS 6.0 bootdisk I get "Non-system disk ... error".

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any help will be appreciated.Thank's!

It looks like the computer was running Windows NT 3.1.Unless you have these diskettes you may be better off doing a clean install with the dos systems you have or the Wengier installation diskettes for ms-dos 7.1.The diskette drive may not be configured in the bios.Enter the bios to check.Good luck.
