It exists a programme named windows commander. It allows you to connect your portable Computer with your PC with a parallel port cable. You have to install the 16 bit version for win3.x and the 32 bit version for win95/98. The Programm is Shareware and you find it for download and more information under http://www.ghisler.com/

Try to Network them. This is the fastest option. See www.wown.com for that.
Other options:
MS-DOS 6.xx Interlink and Interserv (Type Help in MS-DOS too see how this works) using a nulmodem cable (slow) or a parallel cable (faster).
Another (commercial) program that uses this cables is Laplink. You need the correct versions (for Win3xx an Win9x). I got it for free with some computermagazines.

Here is a freeware (DOS) program that I found and this works with parallel and 0 modem cable too. DR DOS and OpenDOS also have a utility like MS-DOS has, but I had problems when I used the parlink cable with it.....
