Will not boot cannot get to c drive or a dive get the message i/o error and no bootable partition please help

Have you tried booting with a boot disk? It's a bit difficult to tell what might be the problem from your brief description.

Sounds like your HD may be bad. Boot with a DOS6.22 or a win95 boot floppy disk. You can get it at bootdisk.com. Run scandisk at the dos prompt and all bad sectors will show up. If no bad sectors found, run fdisk and delete partitions and then run format c:

hi richie i have tried to boot with dos 6.22 @win95 but its still no use i get the reply no boot device available please help

Big e, on booting up is your floppy drive enabled in the BIOS. That is do you see the floppy drive led flashing. Or is your floppy drive working? Try cleaning the heads. I assume you extracted the file from bootdisk.com onto the floppy and not just copied it. If all else fails - this is a tough one.
