Hello John
That seems like overkill running win3.1 on a 1.6Ghz athlon with 512DDR ram. Do you have any other OS installed (ie multiboot), if so does the other OS also run slow. What kind of FAT do you have NTFS or FAT32?

hellow john,
Iam from belgium. So excuse me if my english is not very wel. But i know your problem. Install at least windows 98. Windows 3.x supports no AGP cards. Thats the reason wy your computer runs so slow. Al the graphical s--- (That normaly goes trough your AGP graphics-card) goes trough your main processor. And tis wil slow down everything. And the 80GB harddisk is also a problem: Windows wil knock down your harddisk sooner or later because windows 3.x has a limit of 2GB. Now the games: New games requires windows 95 or higher. Thats also a reason wy you can't play most of your games. Windows 3.x Belongs to 286, 386, 486, maybe an old pentium75 processor. This s--- belongs to the past. You have a powerful computer, 3.x can't deal with it . So install windows 98 or later en everything wil run fine. I hope i've helped you out. Good luck T.
