Computer Beeps at boot and stops

Hi i bought a IBM PS/2 system. this computer worked fine when i got it then i opened it up to look at the inside . closed aagain after i put the floppy drive and harddrive back then i started it up it didnt work i got 2 beeps after it said ram ok and then numbers 161 and 163 showed up on the screen following a picture. i tried everything to my knowledge and i just got the thing could someone please direct me on what to do? Thanks!

The 2 short beeps tell you that there is a POST error with error codes as indicated.Error code 161 is a dead battery and error code 163 is CMOS error,date and time not set.This battery may be diifcult to change if you find it is a Dallas module.This module is battery and time in one unit.It is rather rare and may be purchased on the web or by mail.Good luck.

You need to get the Reference Diskette for your PS/2.
I used PS/2's for years and years and had no ref disk, since the Internet was not open to me, and I had used ones. Owning a PS/2 without a Ref Disk is like a vampire without a coffin to go to at night.
IBM surprisingly still offers the Reference diskette as a .dsk download (as I recall). To make a diskette out of one of those, you need to get a (DOS) IBM program called LOADDSKF to extract, but WinImage can make the disks too.
