I have a Compaq Presario 5170 series with Window 98. Recently I was having a lot of problems with my desktop, lost a modem and internet connection. The error message said that I have no modem to connect. I don't remember what type of modem we had for this computer exactly. Does any one knows what type of modem I suppose to install and how do I get it? I tried many different things, nothing works. AOL technician said that we had a Rockwell, but I don't remember seeing Rockwell at all. previous Modem came with the computer. Please help me with installation and what to install. Thanks.
