Hello, I have a laptop computer LTE ELITE 4/40CX and i have formatted my hard disk drive. But i have lost all the softwares including the different power manager and the manual instruction. I have found some softwares for dos on compaq.com but nothing for windows 3.1. Please can you help me Thank you E.Genevaux

Congratulations on being able to get past the Compaq site's JavaScript. You should be able to find the manual in PDF format (yuck!) if you go to the support message board for your laptop. I've just had a look, and in this case it's a Windows helpfile available here -- save it as Elite.hlp The downloads page for Win3.1 is here. Grab everything, install it, and you can't do much more, apart from adding utilities to get the system just how you want it.

Hi guy ..we''ve got something in common we both have almost the same computers ..I've just picked up a LTE ELITE 4/75 .,and did the same stupid thing fdisked and formated the HDD .,you can't do this with these darn things.,but not all is lost I was able to download the setup files again from the HP Compaq web site http://www.compaq.com .,but I'm not sure if you got the docking station with this .,as I did and this is where I'm having the big problem .,trying to get the darn cd rom I installed work .,it won't or refuses to except the darn thing .,I'm pullin' my hair out here trying this and that and no luck what's so ever .,Im going to go one more route when I leave here and see what happens., keep in touch .,as we both may benifit by all this as I want to put Win 98SE on mine......Big AL
