Compaq Lite 4/25E

i have a Compaq Lite 4/25E laptop. i have bought an external hayes accura modem 144 +FAX144. i have installed ie3. i keep getting the COM port is unavailable error message. please help me install this.

1) Check to make sure that your com ports are enabled in your setup. Compaq-[F10] When blinking cursor jumps to top right corner of screen OR Compaq-[F10] when logo screen is displayed 2) If you have another computer available, test your modem to make sure that it is working. 3) Here is a shareware program that will test your serial ports and modem and check for conflicts http://www.comminfo.com/pages/download.htm IRQInf30.ZIP (CTS Site - requires PKUNZIP) IRQInf30.EXE (CTS Site - self-installing)
