Clocked Speed

I was looking at OS and I meet all the requirements except clocked speed. I have a 466MHz computer with 128MB-RAM and 10GB hard drive with a clocked speed of 100. I accedently came upon this information and wrote it down, I will never be able to find it again. What determines clocked speed, can it be changed, is it criticle? Anything you guys have to say about this question would be greately appreciated. thank you Hank.

What OS are you going to use? What is the clock speed of the requirments say? If it is like little over than the one you have, it really isn't going to matter. All your going to sacrifice is speed that's all. But if it is a lot over than I will post another message up once you tell me the requirments.
I think the clock speed that you wrote down is probably your front side bus speed. 100mhz will probably be the speed of your ram on a 466mhz computer. The CPU speed is usually setup in multiples, so I don't think 100mhz would be used in this figure.
I agree, though I cannot see how the requirements of the OS could be higher than 466Mhz. The minimal requirement to install Win XP is 266Mhz PII (I think), and 466 is no where near that figure. I dont think current versions of Linux or other oses will excede the requirements of Win XP.
Summary: Hi matt: Unless you know if the dip switch settings for DX2-66 don't try it. You need to change the clock speed from 2 x 25mhz to 2 x 33mhz to work, if you just replace with a 66mhz CPU it might work,...
