Cd-rom Stuck

My cd-rom drive is stuck & wont open so I can put the cd in the drive. I press the buttom & the drive lights up as if it is going to open but it doesn't. Does anyone know what causes this & is there anyway I can fix it. I was thinking of getting a needle or a hair pin to squeeze between the cracks to try to open it.

Look on the faceplate of the drive carefully and you will see a small round hole. That is the manual release. Stick the end of a paperclip into the hole to release the tray.
