Hi,
When I hook in my CD-ROM drive (50X Acer), to the cable with my hard drive (Western Digital 6.4 GB Hard Drive), there is no screen, Why? The cables are hooked in correctly also.
Thanks!

Most any CD-Rom drive comes with a Controller Card. U have to use that card to install the CD-Rom drive, and also get the proper IDE cable for a cd-rom drive. Plus after that you will need the drivers for that CD-Rom drive. I wouldn't suggest hooking it up like you did, you might damage something on the board, if you haven't already =P

i ave a confusing problem, my cd rom reads data and only data, it will not read any .cda format, i cannot listen to my music cd's and after im dont installing a game or something it can play the game music through cd if i want it to , such as quake 2, but it will not play , for some reason it wont work, and ive tried everything to my knowledge but i cannot get it to work, what gets me is that a 3rd party cd player software will play my music cd's but it does not account for the windows cd player not playing my cd's , i understand that windows applications well most of them use the defualt MS cd as its main cd player, during games i believe that the programmers of these games and applications use MS cdrom player to play music during games i have tried everything so please help me !!!!
