Hello, Please help me!!!
I have an old PC(486dx50) and wanted to raise my HDD capacity from 200MB to 1GB(or more)
I have 1GB Quantum hard disk.
so I installed Disk Manager program and
suceeded in recognizing 1GB.
I did every thing well by this time.
What I really want to know is to setup a 8¡¿CD-ROM.
However I installed CD-ROM driver, I failed to launch CDROM on my PC.
I can't explain my situation any more
because of the limitation of knowledge.
Please help me !!!

Try a MS-DOS CD-ROM Boot Disk from www.bootdisk.com or www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk and test your CD with it.
The powerload sites CD Boot Disk also contains an installable Universal IDE CD-ROM Driver.

What kind of OS are you using. When you install a CD-Rom it adds a line to your Autoexe.bat. This way everytime you turn your computer on it loads up. Sometimes the Autoexe.bat is marked "Read Only" in the "Properties", if this is the case the installation program could not add the line. I assume you installed the CD-Rom at the C prompt (Thats the correct way)
