I prefer that advisers direct people to my home page, so that they can see what else is offered by PowerLoad! Thanks

I downloaded the driver oakcdrom.sys, but could not get it to work. Am I doing something wrong? I downloaded it to a floppy, typed a:\setup but couldn't get it to do what it's supposed to do. Could someone tell me how to install this in windows 3.1?

individual drivers files are the complicated way of doing this...it is not an 'install" deal, you ahve to put the individual files in and alter your autoexec file...there is a way that is easier

go to this site...http://www.btinternet.com/~woofgbr/

download the universal ide cd-rom driver...put it on a floppy...reboot into DOS, put floppy in and run setup...this is a easy to use program

If you had looked further down the page you would have found 'Install' programs.

OAKCDROM.SYS file was part of a working example:

[config.sys]

DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICEHIGH=C:\DOS\oakcdrom.sys /D:mscd001
LASTDRIVE=F

[autoexec.bat]

LH C:\DOS\MSCDEX.exe /D:mscd001 /l:D

Not a setup file as don points out!

Here is the OAKCDROM Setup file:
