Hello, I really need help.. I tried to install my cd-rom by copying oakcd.sys from a boot disk, in c:\ then i put a line in autoecex.bat C:\WINDOWS\MSCDEX /d:mscd000 and in config.sys I put DEVICE=C:\OAKCDROM.SYS /d:mscd000 then i go to drivers and i try to add the driver "IDE : cd audio" and it tells me to put in the floppy with the driver on... How can i make me cd-rom work pls ? It's urgent

The OAK drivers will work for most standard CD-ROM drives. It won't work for all. Is your CD-ROM drive new or old? What model CD-ROM drive do you have? Is it attached to a sound card or CD-ROM controller card? If so what brand and model of card is it? Is it attached to the IDE cable as a slave to your hard drive? If so, is your Hard drive jumpered for master and your CD-ROM drive as slave?

1.old (i think about 7 years) 2. vertos 600 3.sound card, I don't know the model, but on the soundcard is a sticker that says 'opti' 4.don't think so..There is one big fat gray cable going to the soundcard, a green cable is goint to the soundcard also, and there is one multi-colored cable going to the ventilator..

The cdrom will have a sticker on it with model no. etc. Post that.
