After doing a Format C: I said I think I did a Boo Boo...

I reloaded IBM DOS6.3 Then Windows 3.11.
Now I need to load the drivers to make the CD-Rom Available as a input device.

The CD-ROM is a CR-563-B and I found a Driver cd_wu.exe
Description - Updated CD-ROM Install and Test program for the CR-563 CD-ROM Drive that fixes the hang when used on a machine with a Western Digital Video Card. Does NOT include SBCD.SYS

and

Driver sbcddw95.exe
Discription- MKE CD-ROM Installation
C563-W95-01-ENG

DOS, Windows 3.1 and Windows95/98 support for Creative Panasonic/MKE 1x and 2x CD-ROM drives (CR-563 etc), and Windows95/98 support for Funai 2x CD-ROM drives.

Please refer to README.TXT for installation details.

Included drivers:
SBCD.SYS v4.22
SBCD.MPD v1.17

Now I need directions on how to install them
and what changes I need to make in the Autoexec.bat and or Config.sys

Thank You to whoever can assist.

Eric,

The CR-563-B is a proprietary CD-ROM drive which attaches to a soundcard or another CD-ROM controller card.

You need to install the soundcard before the CD-ROM drivers.

What soundcard do you have in this computer?
Often, the installion program for the soundcard will have all the drivers for the CD-ROM drive and will install them for you.

I think that the driver you need for this card is actually the

SB2CD.SYS

I think that you can use the instructions here at the Dell site. This is for a 562 instead of a 563-just substitute the driver SB2CD.SYS in the lines where SBCD.sys is mentioned.

DR Thank You for all your help..

On the Creative Labs site I found the sound card under the archive driver section.
1810CD.exe this included SBCD.SYS then from the readme.txt it showed the line to change in the config.sys, and like magic it worked. This is the first time I've used a Q&A site and now I can't recommend it enough.

Thank You again for all your help.
