can't get canon bjc-240l printer to connect

please send me info or a disk to restart my cannon printer. My hard drive blew and i didn't save the disk i got with the printer and no one can seem to get it connected again even the guy who set up the computer.
One last thing, is if you are using a parallel connected printer through a scanner or other device. That can be a problem with device communication through the other device, try just connecting to the parallel connector on your PC to see if this corrects problem.
