I winder if the Win3.11 I have has a serious y2k problem. I have been having a great deal of trouble sending mail. I have finally got the problem very clearly: Explorer Mail can send small messages: upto 2k bytes. Mails larger than that just sit in the outbox. I get once in 15 mts or so a message 'Unexpected response from SMTP server'. All message dates inthe inbox/outbox/sent folders are 'No or invalid date'. Sometimes they get get decode into illogical dates. If I try Netscape mail, again small messages go, but if I try sending a larger message, the system hangs. Appears some component of WIN3.11 that uploads files is not y2k compatible. Any advice??? Mohan

There is a Y2k update for windows 3.11 available at; http://www.bootdisk.com Y2KUPDATES WindowsForWorkgroups3.XX I don't think that this Y2K update will fix the way that INTERNET MAIL displays dates, it didn't help when I was using Internet Explorer 3.03 with INTERNET MAIL. I did the Y2K update. Try it and see if it helps. This might be some other problem. If your system meets the minimum requirements of 486-25Mx 12 Meg of RAM, you might want to update to Internet Explorer 5.01 with OUTLOOK EXPRESS http://win3x.tucows.com/win3xalpha.html You could also try downloading EUDORA LIGHT for an email client, from the same site and see if that solves your problems.
