Hi

I cannot start up my laptop. umm when i turn it on.it runs scandisk for windows. In between..somewhere around 42% complete it stops and it says
"Scandisk detected an invalid long filename entry on the drive but was unable to fix it.

To fix this program, run Scandisk for Windows"

So i click ok and it continue to scan then another message pops up,

"Scan disk is searching drive C for crosslinked files"

And so i click okay again.

The a black screen comes up and it says

"While initializing device SHELL; cannot find or load required file KRNC386.exe. The file was not found.

Press any keys to continue....

An internal stack overflow has caused the session to be halted.

Change the STACKS setting in your CONFIGURE.SYS file and try again."

Then my laptop freezes.

How do i change the configure.sys file or what am i suppose to do?

I want to format my laptop again..how do i do that with this error keep coming up.

Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Thanx

KIM

For anyone who has not noticed! This is a Windows 9x Problem.

Format Laptop Hard Drive via a Boot Disk.
