Hi!
I would like poeple to open up Word docs on my CDR using Word Viewer.exe also located on the same CD!

The thing is I do not want Word Viewer installed on the users PC. I only want them to see word files using the Word Viewer.exe located on the CD!

I have saved the INSTALL.exe in a folder on my hard drive (to be later burned on my CDR) However when I open INSTALL.exe to place all the necessary files on the CD the INSTALL.exe program saves some components to my PC. (I don't want this!) I want it to install ALL the needed files on the CD!?

Any way to do this?

Much thanks!

Go here and you'll find a zip file that has some cd-rom
drivers for a 486.
it from a Packard Bell computer .It may help you .If not I'll
up load more when I can.Or post more links.

Remember that your cd-rom on the older compuders works off of your sound card.

This is an example of a config.sys file

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.exe RAM MIN=0 D=64
BUFFERS=8,0
FILES=30
DOS=UMB
LASTDRIVE=E
FCBS=1,0
DOS=HIGH
STACKS=9,256
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\MOUSE.SYS /Y
DEVICE=C:\DOS\MOUSE.SYS
DEVICE=C:\SGNXPRO\DRIVERS\CDMKE.SYS /P:630 /D:MSCD000

This is an example of a autoexec.bat file

SET GALAXY=A220 I5 D1 K10 P530 T6
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4
C:\DOS\MSCDEX.exe /D:MSCD000
@ECHO OFF
PROMPT $P$G
PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\DOS;C:\
LH /L:0;1,42384 /S C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.exe 1024 256
SET WINPMT=[WINDOWS] $P$G
SET TEMP=C:\PBTOOLS\WINTEMP
SET DIRCMD=/O
SET SOUND=C:\SGNXPRO

Where you see a slash \ then a name after it.
The first is a directory and the next are subdirectory.
In other words a dieectory with in a directory.
