Heres my problem. I just changed ISP's. I am using Netscape 3.04 on my Windows 3.1 pc & Netscape 4.0 on my Windows 95 pc. The problem is when I get ready to check my mail Netscape prompts me for a password. I put in the right passcode & it says server responded invalid password every time & wont let me in. Now on the '95 pc Netscape prompts me for a password for my email & I input the exact same password & it works. I called tech support & as you know they say they no longer support Windows 3.1 anymore so no help there. They said I needed to upgrade. So is there anyway I can somehow bypass the password using netscape on my '3.1 machine so I can receive my mail. I take this pc with me most places.
Thanks!

Its not a Windows 3.xx nor a '95 problem here. (The person from the helpdesk is just stupid...;-()
Its normal that when you change ISP your email settings are not correct anymore. If you want do dial in and send and receive your email you need this:
- pop3 server (for receiving email)
- your username or login for that pop3 server
(if your adress is tia@provider.com its likely that your username is tia)
- your password for that email adress
- smtp server (for sending email)The smtp server has to be the one from your new ISP (so you can ask the stupid person for that ;-)
These 4 things must be changed in your Netscape email settings both for your 3.1 and 95 machine. Just browse in your Netscape menus to see where this can be done....

Actually I have changed everything over to my new Isp's settings & I cannot get past the password on netscapes email. It accepts my password fine when I log on & the internet runs great, I just cant get into my email on the Windows 3.1 pc. Wont take the password & I know its correct. I called tech support & they gave me the password & it was the exact same one I was inputting. The windows 95 pc takes the password & I can get into my mail from that pc. He said I could try to upgrade my browser on the 3.1 pc but the hard drive is not very big thats why I havent.
