dos disk #1 is the boot disk . it will give you the option to format and install dos.

There isnt a such thing as a Windows 3.1 boot disk, per say. Windows 3.1 cant boot itself anyway, it has no kernel. It boots off dos, so you would really need a dos boot disk. You could use dos disk one as mountain said, but you would be better off using an optimized MS-DOS boot disk (like this one: http://roy.hp2.jp/gpc/mirror.mw16/M... , for dos 7.1, there are plenty of diff versions of dos boot disks on the web with diff features and drivers). However, if you want to boot the Windows 3.1 Gui off a floppy, that is ALSO possible, using Mini Windows boot disks. As mentioned, I have never heard of one either. Have to boot up via DOS and the older way then.
